Muhammad Ali's influence on the black organizers who formed the backbone of the Civil Rights Movement was distinctly positive and remarkably broad-based. His power as a heroic symbol bridged the entire span of the movement's ideological spectrum. In ways that nobody else could, Ali appealed simultaneously to people and organizations who otherwise agreed on little politically. In the words of one organizer, Bob Moses, "Muhammad Ali galvanized the Civil Rights Movement." - Al Jazerra

Muhammad Ali was a man like no other and was key member to stand up for his religious rights and civil rights by refusing his selection into the army in the Vietnam War. He had rebelled against the Vietnamese war, wanting to avoid the unnecessary slaughter and not wanting to support the country that has segregated against him in war. His words on the matter were: "I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over." With the image that he demonstrated it created a movement between all of the top African American athletes in support of the actions that Muhammad Ali was showing. They stood at the summit and answered various questions regarding this subject and they wanted to prove the strength that Muhammad Ali had and all of these athletes standing side him defended Muhammad Ali by the backlash that he was receiving.
Muhammad Ali was later stripped of his heavyweight belt but that achievement will shadow what he did to the civil rights movement and to lead by example and to demonstrate that one should not be afraid to stand up for what is right. Muhammad was also suspended from boxing and he had been placed under a 5 year prison sentence. Ali had however been found innocent for being a conscientious objector, and was suspend for 3 years in the cage, in the prime of his career. After this delusion and madness that occurred he shook up the world by proving that he was truly the greatest. He showed his greatness on and off the ring by the actions and words he conveys which shook up the world for good.

Muhammad Ali was a symbol of hope to african americans because of the sacrifices that he made by almost loosing his boxing career from his refusal of being drafted into the army because of religious beliefs. Muhammad Ali was a very special individual who incorporated strategies, tactics and world views into his operations that would later be adopted by much wider constituencies. Muhammad Ali gave the voice to many who couldn't speak, he gave the people a voice in which was heard by the people of the United States. They heard his voice and followed his ideas that he had to make an America in which peace can reside. The voices that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, Rosa Park etc preached were highlighted by the actions that Muhammad Ali demonstrated. He was a key icon that will forever be remembered for the lasting impact that he made in the world. HE TRULY DID SHAKE UP THE WORLD.

“Cassius Clay is a slave name. I didn’t choose it, and I didn’t want it. I am Muhammad Ali, a free name – it means beloved of God – and I insist people use it when speaking to me and of me.”
